In Martins Bank’s time, Gisburn is a sub-Branch to Clitheroe, but this was not always so. The last set of partners to run the Craven Bank decide in 1880 that incorporation is the only way to go, and the Craven Bank Limited is born. At this time the structure of branches is different to the way in which it will be organised after the Craven Branches become part of Martins Bank. Both sub-Branches are manned by staff from the parent Branch at Castle Street Clitheroe, and opening hours have to be worked out to allow for the logistics of making sure that the right staff can attend the right sub-Branch at the right time, and on the right day…
